SunGard Ends Q1 2003 in the Black

WAYNE, PA.--SunGard Data Systems announced first quarter 2003 results last week that were in the black, but financial analysts caution that the company may soon be exhausting its acquisition and cost-cutting options.

SunGard had a net income of $76 million for the three months ended March 31, 2003, a 9 percent increase over $70 million for the first quarter of 2002, officials say. Revenue for the first quarter was $675 million, an increase of 11 percent over $608 million reported for the same
