Tibco's surging stock price is making a fortune not only for the company's executives, but also for its founder Reuters and two of its principal investors, Cisco Systems and the Mayfield Fund, a venture capital firm.
Reuters stock shot up almost 9 per cent to 1,490 pence last week when Tibco's share rose by $22 to $131. Reuters owns 113.3 million Tibco shares. At $131, those shares are worth $14.8 billion. Cisco's 13 million shares are worth $1.7 billion. Mayfield's 8.6 million are about $1.12
