Sun Creates New Post for WallStreet

NEW YORK—Sun Microsystems officials hope to win back some of the waning and often fickle attention of the top technologists of Wall Street with the creation of a new job title: vice president, Wall Street Technologies.

Stuart Wells, a Sun veteran, was promoted to this new position in May with little fanfare.

Wells says he and his staff of 20 will try to make up for lost ground in the securities trading IT sector in the area of low-cost trader desktops, the exodus to Linux-Intel and the growing
