RMDS to Embrace Web Services

TRADING FLOOR TECHNOLOGIES

NEW YORK--Reuters will soon be embracing Web services for its next-generation market data platform, the Reuters Market Data System (RMDS), officials confirm.

The new capabilities stem from the combination of Reuters’ Internet Finance Platform (IFP), a set of components that tie into RMDS, and the Reuters Bridge Internet Toolkit (RBIT), a Microsoft .Net-based onsite system that manages Bridge data. The combination will yield a new server for RMDS, Reuters officials say.

The new Web services
