AMEX Revives Futures Subsidiary As Electronic Marketplace

In a bid to become a viable futures exchange after nine years of virtual inactivity, the Amex Commodities Corp. (ACC) subsidiary of the American Stock Exchange hopes to begin electronic trading of a new futures contract on 10-year Treasury notes. The unusual plan teams the ACC with a leading interdealer broker in U.S. government securities, Fundamental Brokers Institutional Associates (FBI), which will market the contract to its primary dealer customers.
