EDI Enters Canada With Mallette
Reference and corporate actions data provider Exchange Data International (EDI) has hired David Mallette to advise on the Canadian equity and fixed-income markets.
Mallette has more than 20 years’ experience in equity and fixed-income data in the Canadian markets, including founding FRI Corporation and Initram Data.
EDI also announced the opening of a Montreal office to serve a growing Canadian customer base.
Netik Hires Rooney in Hong Kong
Data management and distribution services provider Netik has hired Brian Rooney as senior vice president, Asia Pacific. Rooney will be responsible for the company’s new Hong Kong office, opened for a strategic move into serving the Asia-Pacific region.
Rooney will build staff in sales, service and support roles for Netik in the region. Previously, he was regional sales director for the Asia-Pacific at GoldenSource, also based in Hong Kong.
Netik has operations in New York and London, and cites research showing investment banks are increasing IT spending in the Asia-Pacific region as the basis for its new presence there.
Shelley Joins Broadridge as CMO
Broadridge Financial Solutions has named Stefanie Shelley as chief marketing officer. Shelley will be responsible for Broadridge’s global marketing functions, including brand strategy, product marketing, corporate communications and digital and social media marketing.
Shelley began working for Broadridge as a consultant in August 2010, leading marketing initiatives, completing a marketing budget for 2012 and developing an integrated marketing strategy for the company.
She has held senior roles at major financial services firms and Fortune 100 companies, including Capital One, Citi, JPMorgan Chase and GE Capital.
eClerx Names Mullins in Asia-Pac
Business process outsourcing provider eClerx has hired Peter Mullins as associate principal, to be based in Singapore. Mullins will lead eClerx’s expansion efforts in the Asia-Pacific region, and will be responsible for the company’s sales to financial services firms in the region. He will report to Alberto Corvo, managing principal, financial services, eClerx.
Mullins has more than 15 years’ experience in the industry, most recently as regional sales manager at Broadridge City Networks. He has also served as regional director of sales in Asia for SuperDerivatives, and in roles at FinIQ Consulting, GFI Group, TFS, Divtek Consult and Gandon Securities (now Investec).
ClariFi Founder Joins Bloomberg
Gioel Molinari, founder and former chief technology officer of ClariFi, the quantitative portfolio management platform acquired by Standard & Poor’s Capital IQ division, joined Bloomberg earlier this summer, working on equity products and services for the vendor’s buy-side clients, as part of its core product group led by Jean-Paul Zammitt. After S&P acquired ClariFi in 2007, Molinari served as a managing director at Capital IQ.
Berna Switches to Fitch
Fitch Solutions, the data and analytics vendor arm of rating agency Fitch, has hired Ana Berna as sales director for the vendor’s business in Spain and Portugal, with responsibility for Fitch’s CDS pricing, fixed-income research and structured finance surveillance tools. She previously spent almost 14 years at Bloomberg in sales and account management roles, most recently as sales relationship manager for Spanish clients. At Fitch, Berna reports to Karine Sequera, London-based head of EMEA sales.
Logicscope Lands d’Arguesse
Logicscope, a UK-based provider of post-trade messaging and data enrichment and integration services, has hired Marc d’Arguesse as product manager. D’Arguesse was previously associate director for foreign exchange and over-the-counter operations at Newedge, and also served as product analyst in Fimat’s prime brokerage group. He reports to head of business development Nick Dyne.
