Direct Edge to Launch Brazilian Exchange
BM&FBovespa dominates the Brazilian trading landscape, and now it faces a new competitor in Jersey City, NJ-based stock exchange Direct Edge, which announced plans to launch an electronic-trading equity platform in Brazil.
Direct Edge Brazil is aiming to launch in the fourth quarter of 2012, and is awaiting approval from the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), Brazil's regulatory body. It will be based in Rio de Janeiro, and will operate as an independent, local company majority-owned by
