Instinet has announced the release of Newport 3.12, the latest iteration of its execution management system (EMS).

Enhancements for the new version include pairs trading support for securities in variable currencies, access to the NYSE Amex Options Complex Order Book and the NYSE Arca Options Complex Order Book, as well as connectivity to client-preferred brokers. Other additions include a relative return performance benchmark against other instruments, and the inclusion of new data points in Newport's analytics engine.

"Newport has become a critical trading workflow tool for a significant number of the world's most sophisticated financial services institutions, allowing them to access hundreds of broker-neutral destinations, intelligently source global liquidity and leverage an advanced, fully-integrated analytics platform," says Frank Freitas, chief operating officer and head of global product strategy at Instinet. "As always, we have worked in close collaboration with this community of users to develop the enhancements introduced in this release and will continue doing so to ensure that Newport remains an industry-leading EMS."

Newport also serves as a broker-neutral access platform to Instinet's range of trading tools, such as its Execution Experts algorithm suite, and Insight, its transaction cost analysis software.
