Waters Wavelength Podcast Episode 4: Flash Crash, MiFID II, Blockchain on the Buy Side, DMMs
Dan and Anthony touch on eight different stories that broke this week in the fintech world.
Dan and Anthony switch things up by allotting themselves two-minute rounds for eight different topics. It wasn't exactly smooth as Anthony was a bit off-kilter. But Dan at least succinctly drops some knowledge and opinion.
They discuss deconstructing the Flash Crash (1:50), acquisitions in the designated market maker business (4:40), the sale of the Chicago Stock Exchange (6:50), Markit's purchase of JPMorgan's system integration software (8:57), a panel on data management between finance and risk teams (11:57), the confirmation of the MiFID II delay (15:38), buy-side firms involvement in blockchain (20:50) and the best way to submit an entry for the Sell-Side Technology Awards (23:10). Finally, the guys wrap things up discussing how wrong they were about Super Bowl 50 (25:04).
