T+2 Settlement Begins in US Markets
Trades executed on September 5 will now settle on September 7 under new rules.
Trades executed on September 5 will settle on September 7, along with securities exchanged on September 1, which were stalled by the Labor Day public holiday.
The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (Sifma), the Investment Company Institute (ICI), and the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) have set up a “command center” to handle any potential issues that may come up. Organizers will give periodic updates throughout the day until just after settlement day.
