It's back to the regulatory drawing board for the SEC after its hedge fund registration rule was quashed by a US appeal court on what was essentially a technicality. But is a mass 'de-registration' on the cards for the US hedge fund industry or are funds staying put for the time being until the regulatory landscape becomes clearer? Stewart Eisenhart reports
