Buy-side risk management reaps benefit from STP


The buy side was abuzz with STP initiatives last year, as firms prepared for the Securities Industry Association’s (SIA) looming T+1 implementation date. That is, until the SIA postponed the T+1 scheme indefinitely, allowing buy-side companies to progress down the STP road at their own pace. But industry experts argue that STP is as much about compliance and operational risk as it is about processing efficiencies and reduced headcounts. Stewart Eisenhart reports
