As IMT went to press, Thomson Financial Services announced that it had set up a new business unit focused on providing real-time electronic trade confirmation services. Called Electronic Settlements Group, the unit will develop and market systems to support notification of trade execution, links between brokers and fund managers and dissemination of trade confirmation and settlement details. The idea is to facilitate T+3 compliance and cross-border trade communication. P. Howard Edelstein
