San Francisco-based Resultant looks to the cloud for technology support

One of the first decisions that the founders of Resultant Capital had to make before it opened its doors was whether or not to build its own infrastructure or outsource it to a third-party vendor.

"Our objective from the beginning was to set up an institutional-quality infrastructure because the investors that we manage money for are pensions, endowments and large institutions," says Michele McGovern, chief operating officer of the San Francisco-based hedge fund.
