AxiomSL says it is seeing "increasing demand" from Hong Kong, where Wormald will be based

Wormald will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to APAC chief executive officer Peter Tierney, who is based in Singapore.

“In addition to Singapore and Australia, we are seeing increasing demand from Hong Kong and the North Asian market, and aim to better serve our clients within this region with David being based in Hong Kong. David has spent a large part of his career holding senior leadership roles in APAC, delivering successful go-to-market strategies in his previous roles. We look forward to having him drive our growing client base and steering our business to the next level,” Tierney says in a statement.

Wormald brings to AxiomSL 25 years of industry experience, most recently as APAC regional sales director for enterprise content and capabilities at the financial and risk division of Thomson Reuters. Previously, he was regional sales manager at NYSE Technologies and APAC head of business development at Broadridge in Hong Kong.

Wormald says he is delighted to join AxiomSL during a phase of growth.

“I am encouraged to see that financial institutions in APAC are recognizing the importance of systemic and strategic solutions when it comes to regulatory compliance reporting instead of opting for tactical and short-term fixes,” he says. “Reporting mandates such as FATCA/CRS, MAS 610 and BCBS 239 will be part of banks’ daily operations for the next 5–10 years. Firms should take the opportunity to look at longer-term goals by considering the benefits of tackling regulatory compliance as a strategic data management function.”
