SmartStream Shifts Strategy on SI Data
Smartstream RDU, which had previously announced it would take a utility approach to centralizing and sharing SI data, announces an SI Registry in collaboration with six APAs.
The SI Registry is a strategic shift for SmartStream’s efforts to assist counterparties with understanding their trade reporting responsibilities under the revised Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (Mifid II). Initially, the reference data and post-trade automation technology provider planned to create a SI Utility, but SmartStream RDU CEO Peter Moss says that once it learned the APAs were working together to create a SI Registry, SmartStream decided it would make more sense to work
