Westpac Signs IT Outsourcing Deals Worth $4.3 Million

MELBOURNE--Westpac has signed contracts worth a total of $4.3 billion with IBM and telecommunications provider Telstra for the supply of hardware and networking services, respectively, for outsourcing the bank’s Australasian technology.

Westpac says that the ten-year contract with IBM global services Australia (IBM GSA) is for the outsourcing of its mainframe and mid-range computing and desktop services, but all IT strategy, systems, applications and architecture will continue to be designed in
