IBM Debuts Blade Upgrades
VENDOR UPDATE
NEW YORK—IBM debuted an upgraded set of blade servers last week that Big Blue says will help Wall Street firms with compute-intensive applications as well as overcrowded data centers.
Officials at IBM took pains to stress that the new blade servers will be as compatible as possible with industry trends and needs. For instance, the blades will accommodate the Sun Microsystems Solaris variant of Unix, even though IBM will not be reselling Solaris, IBM officials say. The blades will also come with
