Drop in Outright Sales Cancels RMDS Uptick

LONDON—Reuters apparently had a boost in recurring revenue for its Reuters Market Data System (RMDS) in 2005, but the jolt in maintenance revenue was canceled out by an overall drop in outright revenues, according to Reuters' 2005 financial results announced last week.

Overall, though, Reuters had positive news in its 2005 preliminary results, which marked the first full year of revenue growth since 2001.

Outright revenue fell by more than 20 percent last year compared to 2004. In addition
