Aleri Boosts Sales, Support Staff
Philip Cooney also joins Aleri in London as European sales manager, from business intelligence software vendor Actuate, where he was account manager for capital markets, prior to which he was a client manager in new business sales for wholesale financial markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at SAS Software U.K., and EMEA business development manager at BT Radianz. Cooney, who will be responsible for building the vendor's European presence, has also previously worked at BT Syntegra, SunGard and Reuters.
Both Biechele and Cooney report to Nick Deacon, Aleri's EMEA managing director in London.
Meanwhile, in New York, Aleri also recently hired Scott Jaffe as managing director and head of sales for North America, reporting to CEO Don DeLoach. Jaffe previously spent more than five years at MontaVista Software, most recently as vice president of sales, business development and channels, having also held vice president roles at Dun and Bradstreet and Sybase.
At the end of 2008, Aleri announced plans to add modularity capabilities to the vendor's modeling tools and language in the next release of the Aleri Streaming Platform, slated for release during the first half of this year with the rollout of version 3.2 of the platform (DWT, Dec. 22, 2008).
The added capabilities will allow clients to reuse certain modules, or pieces of code, in different models, said Jeff Wootton, vice president of product strategy with Aleri, at the time.
The Aleri technology team has been working on aspects of the new release since November 2008, according to Wootton. In addition to new modularity capabilities, the expected release will include virtualization tools for visualizing output, Wootton added, declining to give further details.
