Misys Cuts UK Staff, Hires Offshore

LONDON--UK financial software vendor Misys confirmed last week that it cut its UK staff numbers at the end of last year and that it will shift more development work offshore this year as a result of the current decline in technology spending by banks, officials for the vendor say.

On the publication of its first-half results last week, the vendor revealed it had laid off a total of 350 staff last November and December from the vendor’s Banking and Securities division. This division saw a £12
