European Banks Catching Up With US on IT Salaries

LONDON--European banks are catching up with the US and, to a lesser extent, Japanese banks in the IT salaries department, as remuneration becomes more and more bonus-oriented.

A salary survey by IT search consultants Sheffield-Haworth reports that, while it was generally understood that major US investment banks and select Japanese banks paid toward the top of the scale for IT staff, many of the larger European houses have recently "tipped the scale substantially."
