Lost in the hullabaloo over Reuters potentially buying Telerate is the serious matter of market data distribution platforms. Reuters has three to support—Triarch, the TIB-based systems and the Reuters Market Data System (RMDS). If Telerate joins the Reuters fold, then it’s possible that Reuters will have to support the Trading Room System (TRS) from Telerate—assuming that Reuters will buy it.
