"You’ve got to have the vendors by the ba---," says an industry source of mine in great frustration when explaining why a financial IT executive at a large firm recently crashed and burned after an auspicious start. The IT vendors’ bills caught up with the executive and the people at the very, very top made some drastic changes to the IT department, tossing out the exec with the next day’s garbage.
