Nasdaq Grows UTP Bandwidth

Nasdaq OMX has increased the bandwidth of the consolidated UTP Trade Data Feed by 57 percent, from 8 Megabits per second (Mbps) to 12.5 Mbps, creating sufficient capacity to handle throughput of 22,500 messages per second. The exchange set the upgrade in May, and has since conducted weekend stress tests for direct UTDF subscribers and extranet providers, ahead of increasing the bandwidth on Aug. 16.
