Instinet Jumps into the Dark Pool

Instinet has launched a dark liquidity pool for US-listed options. The dark pool, named Instinet Options CBX and which is already live, supports mid-point crosses and allows for sub-incremental prints on exchanges, where permitted, say Instinet officials.

John Duffell, chief strategy officer at Instinet, says that CBX, which is currently available through direct FIX connectivity, will be different to other dark pools in that it will cater to orders of all sizes and not just large, block orders.
