SGX Rolls Reach, Suffers SingTel

On the day it launched its new Reach securities trading engine, the Singapore Exchange experienced connectivity issues to its derivatives and securities markets, due to an issue at network provider Singapore Telecom. SGX officials say members were automatically switched to backup connections when the issue occurred at 3:44pm last Monday, Aug. 15, and that the markets “continued to be orderly throughout.”
