Australian FIX technology vendor Cameron Systems is planning to expand the reach of its Market Data Server in the wake of its acquisition by Swedish front end software vendor Orc Software, officials say.
MDS collects exchange feeds and translates them from exchanges' proprietary protocols into the FIX and FAST (FIX Adapted for Streaming data) protocols (IMD, Oct. 17, 2005). The idea is that user firms can consolidate feeds from different exchanges in the same format without having to adapt each
