Mini Options' Early Successes Attract Prop Shops, Divert Tech Spend

High-frequency trading (HFT) in traditional options has, as in equities, seen barriers and costs to initial entry rise in recent years, not only for individual investors but smaller prop shops. As more trading venues offer access to mini options and retail interest builds, “intelligent” trading and market making strategies around the new products will begin to take shape, says KX Systems’ senior engineer Fintan Quill.
