Dubbed Automated Latency Indicator for Vendors and Exchanges (ALIVE), the tool stores and analyzes data on an appliance that is installed within a firm's data infrastructure─either on-site or in a hosted datacenter environment, for example on an infrastructure managed by West Highland─and uses lightweight daemons to capture data packets from the firm's network so as not to introduce additional latency.
