NY Fed Home Loans Bank spurns multi-cloud model

The cost and complexity of diversifying away from the big three providers outweighs concentration risks.

Migrating its tech stack to the cloud has helped the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York get off “the tech debt treadmill,” according to its chief information officer, but the mortgage specialist ruled out adopting a multi-cloud model, concluding that the potential gains from diversification were outweighed by the difficulties of migrating its custom setup.
