What does the future of trader voice look like?

The trader voice market has shrunk to three main players: IPC, BT, and Symphony. The battle for market share and desk real estate is pitting hardware against software.

A trader from the 1980s dropped into the capital markets of 2026 would get whiplash. Gone are the days of open outcry, paper stock certificates, and separate phone calls going on both ears. The trading floor is less room, more computer.
