Instinet For Fixed Income: Postponed

NEWS RETRIEVAL

Instinet's (www.instinet.com) major new initiative--Instinet for Fixed Income--won't debut in 1999 as planned. Instinet executives attribute the delay to the Y2K freeze. But it won't be long. Sources there say it will go live in January. When it does, look for a healthy gathering of sell-side firms to be watching. One source says 28 of the 30 primary dealers are already signed up (not to mention four of the nine investors in Brokertec).
