The new iTrader is a collaboration server that uses a combination of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), which enables interactive sessions involving multimedia, and the real-time Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) that supports multimedia traffic, chat and presence capabilities. "The platform gives traders more flexibility in terms of unified communications, letting them converse over instant messaging (IM) with a click of the button," says Tim Furmidge, head of products at BT
