The acquisition gives Tibco high-speed stream-processing capabilities for its event-processing product portfolio, which already includes products for handling rules-driven scenarios, inference models, and transactional events.

 The combined solutions enable big data to be processed in real time to provide an event-based alternative to batch-centric big data architectures. No longer confined to front-office trading, StreamBase has customers building complex-event processing (CEP) applications to tackle pre- and post-trade compliance and foreign exchange (FX) pricing and auto-hedging applications, while customers in the emerging markets of Brazil and China are using the technology to build out their electronic trading infrastructures.

The combined solutions enable big data to be processed in real-time to provide an event-based alternative to batch-centric big data architectures.
