About the WatersTechology Asia Awards category write-ups

Based on conversations with a number of WatersTechnology’s readers and past category winners, we have decided to change the format of the winners’ write-ups. The new format will include the information contained in section A. Therefore, it is in entrants’ interest to provide accurate and detailed information in response to all the questions in section A.

Technology & data vendor categories:

Section B (Information in this section will remain strictly confidential)
• 500-word free-form entry explaining what the product/service is, what it does, what problems it solves for its clients, how it differentiates itself from other similar offerings, and why you believe it should win the category. The information in this section will play a key role in determining the category winners. Therefore, the information you include and how well you articulate the features, advantages and benefits of the product or service you are entering is crucial.

Entry advice: The judging panel review multiple entries in each category. It is therefore essential that you choose your words carefully, focusing on what you believe to be your competitive advantage as opposed to what all other providers are offering. In other words, the judges want to know all about your “secret sauce” and not about the functionality that makes your firm just another service provider in the marketplace. Please ensure that you use full and formal product names.

End-user categories:

* Mandatory

  • Briefly describe the initiative you have entered into this category. (Maximum 375 characters or 75 words. Please stick to the word count. Anything more than 75 words will be deleted.) *
  • How did the initiative come about? What is the background to the initiative and what was the thinking behind it? (Maximum 375 characters or 75 words. Please stick to the word count. Anything more than 75 words will be deleted.) *
  • What are the measurable/tangible results of the initiative? (Maximum 375 characters or 75 words. Please stick to the word count. Anything more than 75 words will be deleted.) *
  • What plans does the business have for extending the initiative in terms of new services/features/functions? (Maximum 375 characters or 75 words. Please stick to the word count. Anything more than 75 words will be deleted.) *
  • Provide one quote from a company spokesperson outlining why the initiative has been so important/transformational for the company. (Maximum 375 characters or 75 words. Please stick to the word count. Anything more than 75 words will be deleted.) *

Please note that the end-user categories are exclusively open to end-user firms, such as investment banks, brokers, market makers, asset managers, hedge funds, and pension funds. Technology vendors and service providers are not eligible to enter these categories.

Each firm may submit a maximum of two entries per category. If more than two entries are submitted, the judges will only evaluate the first two submissions from that firm.
