Wang Labs To Acquire Walsh Greenwood Info Systems; 'Shark' Gets Well-Heeled Owner

Wang Laboratories, Inc. has become the latest office automation vendor to put market data to work as leverage to sell office systems into the financial services industry. Wang has agreed in principle to acquire Walsh, Greenwood Information Systems, Inc., purveyor of "Shark," one of the most heavily hyped quote systems in history.

With financial services potentially the largest and most lucrative market for office automation, Wang -- like IBM and AT&T before it -- has seized upon the quote
