BST Awards 2020: Best integrated middle-office platform—Murex

Paris-based Murex becomes the second company to hold the title of best integrated middle-office platform, a category first introduced at last year’s BST Awards. The product that secured Murex’s win is a buy-side feature of its integrated cross-asset platform, MX.3 for Investment Management, which combines front-to-back functionalities with analytics, pricing and valuation capabilities.
Mohamed Turki, head of asset management practice at Murex, says that MX.3 for Investment Management reflects the company’s ambition around buy-side innovation, homing in on the user experience of asset managers, as well as insurance and pension funds.
“We have introduced a real-time business intelligence feature to enhance the user experience of the MX.3 platform and facilitate data discovery and analysis. This technology is available for post-trade data analysis, and it is being extended to our risk analysis portfolio,” Turki says.
MX.3 covers a range of financial instruments, including over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives. The platform offers a straight-through processing experience that runs the length of the investment process, from order processing to affirmation, to matching, to reconciliation.
Turki says the firm works to continuously inject innovation into the platform.
“More specifically for the dealing desk, we will continue to expand connectivity to the execution platforms and increase the number of partnerships with venue providers,” Turki says.
One notable MX.3 for Investment Management client is the Caisse des Dépôts (CDC), a long-term public investor, which selected the MX.3 platform asset management services from front to back office.
