Overview
The SIX Global Corporate Actions service is the result of years of research, development and expertise supporting large numbers of financial services firms with their diverse use-cases. The service is available via various platforms, including the SIX Valordata Feed (VDF), SIX Flex, APIs or cloud-based solutions.
Corporate actions are playing a more and more structural role in the sound functioning and financing of the capital markets. Facing growing complexity, market participants are seeking enhanced quality, timeliness and solutions for their specific business cases. That’s exactly what we are constantly working on to make a difference for the industry with our data. We genuinely value our track record of winning this award for seven consecutive years and will continue delivering our best efforts to carry on
SIX Group
The solution
SIX supplies clients with corporate actions data in standardized formats, allowing for high rates of straight-through processing. Over 70 event types are aggregated from all major financial markets and delivered to customers worldwide in customizable or industry-standard formats―ISO 15022 MT564, for example―allowing users to tailor their data to meet their own specific needs. Additionally, over 50 partners have chosen SIX for streamlined distribution of aggregated data into a wide variety of technology and banking software suites.
Differentiators
SIX has been providing the capital markets with high-quality data for nearly 100 years. During this period, the firm has developed its databases, expanded its asset class coverage, created tools and compiled data to serve the needs of its global clientele. It has always maintained a local flavor to its products and its approach to its customers. This proximity and use-case-driven service strategy is what the Zurich-based firm believes differentiates it from other data vendors.
Recent goals
In 2024, SIX developed new ways to access its corporate actions, in particular through APIs. The firm’s new SIX Bulk API supports large uploads of corporate actions in any security master and banking system in reduced timeframes. This data is kept up to date through delta uploads processed automatically, significantly reducing technology and human loads. SIX has also expanded its coverage with the acquisition and integration of FactEntry, allowing it to extend its corporate actions data to a larger range of fixed-income securities.
Product roadmap
Cryptocurrencies and digital assets in general are now playing a more important role than ever in the investment industry and are consequently demanding greater inclusion in portfolios, even for retail investors. SIX is therefore developing data services around this specific asset class. In parallel, its product approach is more and more “use-case-oriented”―SIX develops solutions specifically to address clients’ needs. The firm intends to continue to solve new business cases for its clients.
