AIM Capital Management, a division of AIM Advisors of Houston, beta tested an options management system that determines optimum strategic risk and return thresholds for each stock option in a portfolio. Called the Rampart Options Management System, or ROMS, the application was developed by Rampart Investment Management, a Boston money manager with $7 billion in assets under management. The system ranks each option, and permits managers to change investment parameters (April 24, 1998).
