The challenge of pricing complex financial instruments has been highlighted over the past 18 months in the wake of the sub-prime fiasco, and it is therefore not surprising that new providers have brought offerings to the market, especially in light of the growing buy-side acknowledgement that investment managers need to look for a number of independent, third-party provided pricing sources in order to verify the pricing information they receive from the originators of the those hard-to-price
