Westpac Investment Management Dumps Knight-Ridder's Equinet And Taps Reuters' Beacon

Sydney, Australia-based Westpac Investment Management has begun removing the Knight-Ridder Equinet service that its quote users have been relying on since the service was introduced. To replace Equinet, the group is installing the Beacon service from Reuters-owned Infocast Australia Pty Ltd. The group decided to shift to Beacon last month after it experienced repeated outages while running the Equinet service across its Microsoft Corp. Windows-based local area network.
