Hedge funds registration: what is the point?


Last month the SEC finally ended months of speculation and anticipation by announcing that US-domiciled hedge funds of a certain size will in future be required to register with the US regulator. But as Stewart Eisenhart explains, it is questionable whether hedge fund registration will produce the SEC’s desired results of combating potential hedge fund misconduct
