News Follow-Up Caspian Would Much Rather Buy Technology Than Build It

SIMON Loopuit, one of the founding partners of the start-up investment group Caspian Holdings, has revealed details of the firm's approach to technology and operations issues. Caspian will eschew in-house developments in favor of third-party applications and outsourced support, says Loopuit, arguing that this is the best way of maintaining an I.T. edge. Loopuit's comments follow the group's recently announced technology deals with Hewlett-Packard Co. and Andersen Consulting (IMT, June 23).
