Reuter Holdings PLC's Instinet Corp. is advertising its latest automated trading service, MarketMatch, as "a sure-fire way not to get burned." MarketMatch--available as a service to users of Instinet's Crossing Network--will anonymously match institutional buyers' and sellers' orders at 8:30 a.m., New York time, each trading day. Shares are priced at the end of the day using a volume-weighted average price calculation. A pre-opening cross mitigates potential frontrunning, industry sources say.
