IN the wake of J.P Morgan & Co.'s declaration two weeks ago that it intends to become the eighth partner in the EJV Partners L.P. (IMT, June 24), the firm's managing director Jean-Louis Bravard says his firm was motivated by a desire to increase its influence over the joint venture. At the same time, the firm--whose partnership still needs to be approved by the Federal Reserve Board--is involved in separate negotiations with the EJV concerning the distribution by the vendor of J.P.
