Scudder Taps Unix-Based GPS But Keeps DOS-Based Portia

SCUDDER Stevens & Clark has selected DST Belvedere Inc.'s Global Portfolio System (GPS) portfolio accounting system to support its fixed-income private accounts managers. GPS will be deployed independently of Scudder's existing Thomson Financial Services Inc. Portia system, which the firm has for some time used to manage its international fixed-income investments. After putting GPS through development, Scudder may eventually deploy the new system in place of Portia and/or the firm's
