Principal Mutual Installs DB2 Gateway Server To Give Managers Portfolio Data

PORTFOLIO SYSTEMS

Principal Mutual Life Insurance Co.'s investment securities group plans to give managers and analysts access to portfolio data residing on the firm's DB2 database; the firm is testing PC-based gateway software from Micro Decisionware Inc. The gateway will also provide a communications link between the firm's investment securities division and Invista Capital Management Inc., a Principal subsidiary.
