Nomura Lured by Instinet's Algorithms

NEW YORK—The Instinet brokerage's cache of algorithmic trading capabilities drove Nomura Holdings to acquire the brokerage last week, say industry observers.
In an all-cash transaction for an undisclosed amount, Nomura has secured Instinet from Silver Lake Partners, a private equity firm that has majority ownership in Instinet.
