VMware Upgrade Handles More Hosts

NEW YORK—California-based VMware, a provider of virtualization software, last week released an upgraded version of its suite that includes four new products and a revamped pricing plan.
VMware, Infrastructure 3, can handle three times the number of hosts and virtual machines than previous versions. Should a machine encounter higher-than-average usage, its new distributed resource scheduler (DRS) allocates additional resources by redistributing other machines, say company officials.
